Telenor has increased call setup charges, one of its kind fee that Pakistani telcos charge their customers for making a regular voice call.
According to a note published on Telenor’s website, new call setup charges on Telenor’s network will be 15 Paisas (including tax) for each call that its prepaid customers will make from now onwards.
Earlier call setup charges on Telenor’s network were 10 paisas plus tax or 12 paisas including taxes.
Call setup charge is a one time fee for each voice call, regardless of its duration.
Currently only Telenor has increased these charges, but as we have seen in the past, it is likely that other operators will follow Telenor but with a gap of few days to avoid any action from CCP.
Call Setup charges were first introduced by Pakistani mobile phone companies back in 2013 to charge customers with literally unlimited voice bundles.
PTA, after receiving complaints from consumers, had asked operators to withdraw call setup charges but operators didn’t listen and continued charging call setup fee by saying that PTA is not mandated to regulate prices.
PTA, to avoid the situation again, introduced a regulation through which PTA has now more control over pricing issues of the industry as well.
We will have to see if PTA will block this new increase in call setup charges or not.

Very disappointing was planning to switch to Telenor from Zong but changed my plan will stick with Zong for now.
Don’t even do that mistake. I converted from Zong to Telenor and regret almost every day.
Zong is much better but expensive
But compared to the service and speed it was totally worth it. I was forced to convert to telenor as I work from a basement and signals are an issue..
Telenor soon will be like warid. . .

what a hypocrisy yar,.,. on a previous post there was something about being paki telecos 4th cheapest in the world,., and people were whining,, we use whatsapp and bla bla .,., and now the call setup charges increased by 3paisa we are stil crying
Dear it’s not about only 3 paisa but the actual situation is that the all telecos are being looted poor Pakistani people by these kind of techts so be patience to defend telecos and think about it with cool mind.

Ab btao kia jae inka.

Meanwhile Mobilink introduces a 1GB 3G bundle in rs 140 and reduces price of 2GB bundle from rs 300 to rs 250. Both are monthly bundles… Did anyone notice that too?
What is the Use of PTA then if they cant handle such a minor issue? As memntioin above that Cellular companies didnt listened PTA… how is it possible? Height of impotency?
I was already living on the edge with Telenor, now I dont have much words to say except.. goodbye Telenor :)
Shameless PTA whos more active over giving more benefits to Telecom Sector,so that Telecom sector pays taxes thru such shit tactics.
