Anusha Visits Telenor’s Digital Festival in Islamabad

Telenor Pakistan today organized a Digital Festival in Islamabad for select people that was also attended by Anusha Rehman, Minister for Information Technology & Telecom and Dr. Ismail Shah, Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.

On this occasion, Anusha shed light on the Government’s relentless focus on making Pakistan an ideal investment destination, while praising the role of telecom sector in the country’s socioeconomic growth.

“Pakistan offers an ideal environment for telecom sector as the country has one of the largest cellular phone subscribers. Due to the incentives-based transparent policies of the government, international business community’s confidence to invest in Pakistan has also improved.”

She added that the contributions Pakistan’s telecom industry continues to make towards the realization of our convergent digital and financial inclusion goals deserve support and applause.

“The role Telenor Pakistan in particular has played for the development and promotion of digital ecosystem in Pakistan is especially commendable. For a developing country like Pakistan, ICT-powered digital initiatives can play a vital role in the country’s growth and I’m glad Telenor Pakistan is leading in that area.”

The dynamic festival showcased Telenor Pakistan’s digital products and solutions portfolio including range of 3G handsets, internet devices, IoT products, mobile applications, mobile payments solutions and more. Live demos of engaging mobile applications such as Capture, WowBox and Pocket TV were also offered at the event. The festival, organized at Telenor’s Islamabad Sales and Service Center, attracted scores of people who enjoyed Telenor’s products and solutions in the interactive experience zones.

This is not the first digital festival that came from Telenor Pakistan. Last month, Telenor Pakistan organized a mega Digital Festival in Lahore that featured Telenor Pakistan’s digital initiatives on a larger and more interactive scale. Telenor Pakistan also has many other industry-first digital initiatives to its credit, some of which being IoT (Internet of Things) exhibitions, startup accelerator program Velocity, and the mobile application development contest Apportunity.
