Opera’s New VPN for Android Might be the Best One Yet

One of the older and better-known tech companies out there, Opera, has a new VPN for you. If you are looking for a free and unlimited option for your smartphone, the company has you covered.

The feature comes on Google’s phones after already launching on iOS in May. The app is great in that it doesn’t even require you to log-in or get a subscription to any of Opera’s services. It compensates for this with in-app advertisements.

Thankfully, this isn’t just another of those generic VPN apps as it comes with its own impressive feature suite. You get the option to check the safety of public Wi-Fi and encryption level. There is also a build-in ad blocker which stops advertisements from tracking you.

The VPN gives you the option to relocate your traffic via the US, Canada, Germany, Singapore, or the Netherlands. The VPN is powered by SurfEasy, which Opera recently acquired. A price you pay for the free services is the sharing of your browsing habits and web usage with third-party apps (which Opera claims has less to do with your individual habits and more about studying the group collectively).

If you don’t mind sacrificing your privacy to a better known player instead and are looking for a cheap VPN option, you can head to the Play Store to get the VPN here.
