Online shopping is finally on the rise in Pakistan as well, as evident by the flourish of e-stores. A lot of discount websites have also popped up to make it an even sweeter experience.
Now, a website called Rupeeco is offering up to 7 percent cashback along with a handful of discounts and exclusive offers for some of the most popular stores on the web. While discounts and offers are common keywords, cashback is a form of incentive that is offered to buyers.
Basically, it means that you will get a certain amount of cash refunded to you when you make a purchase. A 10% cashback means that if you are buying a product worth Rs.300, you will get Rs.30 refunded to you. It is different from a discount in the sense that you still have to pay the full amount at the time of the purchase.
Rupeeco.pk is Pakistan’s first cashback service as well as a coupon site. The startup has been co-founded by Zeeshan Cheema & Waqas Hasan, two Pakistani entrepreneurs with more than 10 years of experience in the IT sector.
Rupeeco functions just like a normal e-commerce store and has a range of products from Electrictronics to Clothing to Home & Living to Travel.
However, they don’t sell anything themselves. All the products you see on their site are actually sold by the Daraz, AliExpress or other online retailers. Once you choose your product, you will head over to the retailer’s website and finish the purchase. After the purchase, the retailer will transfer the amount to Rupeeco and into your Cashback account.
The service is completely free and all you have to do is sign up.
Normally, cashback is added to your Rupeeco’s account within 3 days of purchase. After that, it can take up to 4 to 12 weeks to completely process the cashback and add the amount to your account. Once it is done, your account will show “Confirmed” in your wallet on Rupeeco.
You can request a payment from Rupeeco if your cashback is more than Rs.250. They will transfer the amount directly to your bank account.
Do keep in mind that using a gift voucher, coupon or gift card may void your cashback, as stated in their Terms and Conditions. Moreover, using services like AdBlock may also prove troublesome while recording a cashback since Rupeeco relies on web cookies.
