Samsung Brings Waterproofing for Overpriced Galaxy A Series 2017

Just in time for CES, Samsung is announcing three new Galaxy A series phones. The new phones have been updated with water and dust resistant designs, 3D glass back covers as well as USB Type-C connectivity. In short, it is good to see high-end features that might justify the price tags this series carries in Pakistan.

Galaxy A7 (2017)

The most high-end phone here is the A7, which comes with a large 5.7-inch 1080p OLED display to boot. It comes with a 1.9 GHz octa-core Exynos 7880 processor with 3 GB RAM. Storage is set at 32 GB expandable.

Both the back and front come with 16 MP f/1.9 cameras, with LED also available for the back camera. You can take selfies by pressing the display anywhere.

The battery capacity is set at 3600 mAh which can be charged up to 50% in just 30 minutes.

Galaxy A5 (2017)

Next is the Galaxy A5, which comes with a 1080p 5.2-inch display on the front. The processor, RAM and storage options are all similar to the A7.

The same goes for the two cameras, both of which are of 16 MP resolution. Battery capacity is set at 3000 mAh for the A5, although it still supports fast-charging.

Galaxy A3 (2017)

The Galaxy A3 is a more low-key offering, with a 4.7-inch 720p HD display. Under the hood is a 1.6GHz processor with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage. There is a duo of 13 MP and 8 MP cameras, with f/1.9 apertures. Battery capacity is set at 2350 mAh, and there’s no fast-charging either.

The three phones will retail in Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist and Peach Cloud.

All of these phones, for some inexplicable reason, run Marshmallow.  They’ll  be available starting this month. While pricing details for the A7 aren’t known, the A3 and A5 will retail for 329 and 429 Euros, respectively. We’ll provide details as soon as pricing in Pakistan is confirmed.
