Casio’s New Android Smartwatch is Made for Outdoor Lovers

Casio has unveiled its second Android Wear watch and it is called the WSF-20.

Boasting the trademark Casio design, the watch has a 1.32-inch (300 x 320) display on the front. The design (which brings the word “raw” to mind) looks decidedly more rugged than other Android Wear watches with its array of screws and dials, measuring 56.4mm, and coming with MIL-STD 810G rating which brings water resistance of up to 50 meters.

One of the biggest plus points for the watch compared to its predecessor is the addition of a GPS inside, which allows you to store offline maps. The Activity app can also be used for tracking your path as you walk, cycle, hike or fish (or practically anything else). There’s also some additional sensors such as the Barometer, Compass and the Altmeter.

The WSF-20 runs on the new Android Wear 2.0 (with new watch faces), but Casio is also bringing a lot of custom features here. A new feature called “Moment Setter” which pushes notifications on things like distance covered so far or time remaining since sunset.

Another “Location Memory” marks your location using the GPS and adds a note with it. The display also has a monochrome mode and low-power GPS (which uses offline maps), which is useful since unlike other Casio watches with no Android Wear, the WSF-20 will undoubtedly have worse battery.

The WSF-20 will be priced at $500 but is also going to strike a chord with people of the adventurous type.

  • Glad to see the Press Release of the premium brand Casio @ $500-00. With a strong readership it was expected that consumer perspective of Casio bearing a fat premium is simply published as press release, if not advertisement. Casio has many aspects particularly for mountain climbing, on K2, and other world famous sites, which Casio is portraying the benefits of the expedition hence the price of $500-00 at the current Re to USd parity. I suggest please publish an analytical review on Casio which excels than any other watch product, in feature, even apple I would say.. Casio is the Rolex of Watch for premium applications. It should be at a very reasonably lower price keeping the Re. $ parity which applies today. I would be proud of a Casio watch to a Rolex steel traditional clock, with stones studded. Casio should consider to launch the product to the youth and techies, to use of many amazing applications. Thanks Casio for selecting Pakistan, but please realise we are paying too high a price for US$.
