Updated Galaxy A Series

Samsung’s 2017 A series of smartphones brings a lot of changes to the table, with the most notable and practical one being the dust and water resistance. To be more specific, the new 2017 A series features IP68 dust and water protection rating which means you can basically submerge your phone under water for 30 minutes at depths of up to 1.5m.

Following the footsteps of its flagship siblings, the A series now also comes with a reversible USB Type-C connector. Also, by taking advantage of the Super AMOLED display, the A series will also includes the Always-On display. Unfortunately, the trade-off is that you won’t have an LED notification light.

All 3 smartphones in the line-up come with four color options:

  • Black Sky
  • Gold Sand
  • Peach Cloud
  • Blue Mist

Initial Thoughts

The new A-series smartphones are completely redesigned and features some very high-end build quality. With water-proofing, Type-C, amazing cameras, fingerprint scanners and a refined software, it is no doubt that the 2017 A series will also prove to be a huge success in Pakistan.

Without doubt, the 2017 A series brings a lot of improvements over the last year’s model and is a must have upgrade for those who are out in the market for a new smartphone. Out of the three however, for me, the Galaxy A5 2017 seems like the best pick. Over the A3 2017, you get much better specifications for the money. The reason why I wouldn’t pick the A7 2017 over the A5 2017 however is that it just doesn’t have enough to offer over what the A5 2017 already brings to the table. Sure, the screen size is larger and it accommodates a larger battery, but you are also cutting down on usability, due to the larger screen, and the pixels per inch. With the 5.2-inch screen, the A5 2017 hits the sweet spot and is a no-brainer.

However, is the A5 2017 capable enough? Is it worth to spend the extra cash over the A3? Or is the A7 hiding some trick up its sleeve and is actually the best out of the three? To answer those questions, ProPakistani will be doing a review soon enough so keep watching this space for more on the 2017 A series!

  • One can easily grab Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge or OnePlus 3T for around Rs.45,000. These kind of series are not so familiar among local users. A-Series is simply wastage of money as they won’t have that much accessories available too. Samsung should think of surviving in Pakistan as there are a lot of competitors now selling cellphones like DROID USA , Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei, Lenovo etc

    • ahsan u r 100% right oneplus 3 & 3T ka muqabla hi nhi best phone of the year waisay ahsan bhai 3t 45000/- ka khaan mil rha hy pls reply telemart walay 45k ka oneplus 3 day rhy hain or 55k ka 3T aap k reply ka wait rhy ga

Samsung : We Proud of You !

    • At least consider READING the article. They do have a fingerprint scanner. Even in 2016 models, A5 and A7 had fingerprint scanners. Not at the back, but embedded in the home button. These models have fingerprint scanners in ALL 3 models!

  • Buy OnePlus 3T (with flagship specs) from telemart. Better than these three overpriced pieces of junk. 4-6GB ram, SD 821 and 4K camera.

  • koi dimagh kharab hy banda 55k a7 pr kharch kry is say 100% batter ONEPLUS 3T hy 64 gb internal 6gb ram fast charging 16mp back & front it’s killer phone

  • Hey SAMSUNG, Our Prime Minister owns off-shore companies, appartments and other properties in London UK, We pakistani mango people dont .. So please price your phones according to our aukaat.. such insanely high prices for even a 2gb ram phone. tobah !!

  • Kiya hogaya hai Pakistanion ko jo cheap quality prefer krte hain. Samsung mehnga hai to zahir si baat hai kay us ki products original hai. Samsung kharab nhi hota. Huawei mein problems hain. lenovo ka 19000 wale mobile ka bhi camer kharab mile ga

    • Actually agar baat karen value for money ki to is price range mein bohat options available hain, par agar baat karen resale value ki to iPhone and galaxy both are the big guys, iPhone ya galaxy khareedne k baad is cheez ki tension nhn hoti k ab paise bohat tooten ge. Mein ek cheez recommend karta hun k banda invest us brand mein kare jise bechne mein problem na ho aur paise ache mil jayen Kyun k majority koi bhi phone 1 saal se zyada use nhn karte
