Motorola Re-enters Pakistan with the Launch of Moto Z in Pakistan

Motorola has returned to Pakistan with the launch of Moto Z, one of the first moduler phones available in the market.

Not to mention, this launch is handled by Lenovo that bought Motorola Mobility back in 2014 and later merged Lenovo smartphones into Motorola. This essentially means that Moto Z is launched by Lenovo but since due to its strong brand recognition —  particularly due to iconic Motorola Razr or those early days Motorola phones — we are marking the event as Motorola’s re-entry in Pakistani market.

With the official launch of Moto Z, the phone and at least three of its mods will be available in Pakistan with official warranties.

Moto Z

To start with, the Moto Z is a standalone phone which works on its own. But to supplement, and to add dedicated value there are three different mods that come with Moto Z.

  • Hasselblad True Zoom — a dedicated 12 Megapixel camera with 10X optical zoom
  • JBL Soundboost — Powerful stereo sound
  • Insta-Share Projector — that turns your Moto Z into a projector to watch movies or pictures on a 70 inch screen.

Getting back to the base kit, or the Moto Z itself, the phone is world’s thinnest smartphone at just 5.2mm. Made from military aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel, the Moto Z is equipped with a powerful Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of storage inside.

It boosts a Quad HD AMOLED display for crisp images and video play.

Moto Z has a 13MP camera with optical image stabilization and laser autofocus, which help users take beautiful, true-to-life pictures in any light and condition. The front-facing 5MP camera includes a wide-angle lens. Moto Z also includes an extra flash on the front camera to ensure users look their best, even in low light.

The smartphone comes with a water-repellant coating, which shields the phone from rain, splashes or spills that might come in its way.

With the fingerprint reader, a touch is all it takes to instantly wake up the phone. Moto Z supports up to 30 hours of battery. When in need, the TurboPower™ Mod provides up to 8 hours of power in just 15 minutes.

Arif Shafique, Country Head for Lenovo in Pakistan at the launch of Moto Z

The Moto Z — when coupled with dedicated mods — becomes one of the most powerful devices available in the market. It serves the needs of variety of consumers, based on their taste and requirement.

For instance, if you are looking for quality camera with optical zoom then go for this Hasselblad True Zoom, or if you want to watch a movie simply switch to Insta-Share projector mod.

Arif Shafique, head of Lenovo in Pakistan, said that Moto mods are the revolution that consumers of this age were looking for. He said that mods are designed to enrich the user experience about things they love to do.

Lenovo said that at a time when innovation in smartphones has slowed down, Moto Z marks the beginning of new era as — alongside plentiful of mods that are already available — company has plans to open up its platform for the developers (hardware makers) where they will be able to build and sell their own mods for variety of things that smartphones couldn’t do before Moto Z.

Moto Mods: Hasselblad True Zoom

Moto teamed up with Hasselblad — that has been at the forefront of the imaging industry — to design an imaging experience that completely transforms mobile photography. Add advanced imaging capabilities to the phone in a snap, and create and share like never before.

Featuring 10x Optical Zoom and a Xenon flash, all is needed is to just focus on getting the shot – lighting and distance will never stand in the way of capturing the perfect image.

Customers can expect even more control and flexibility with the ability to shoot in RAW format, in addition to the physical shutter and zoom controls, guaranteeing a great handling experience.

With True Zoom, users will also get free access to Hasselblad’s Phocus software for streamlined editing control and the highest quality output.

Users will also be able to share beautiful results with family and friends while still in the moment with automatic backup and unlimited free storage for two years with Google Photos.

Moto Mods: JBL SoundBoost

For those who enjoy listening to loud music, the Moto Z offers a high-quality JBL SoundBoost that will give the smartphone a boost with powerful stereo sound in a snap.

The Mod includes a built-in kickstand that is guaranteed to make videos and music more immersive.

Users do not have to worry about the battery life, as the JBL SoundBoost includes 10 hours of battery life that allows people to listen longer without using their phone’s battery. The speakerphone also ensures that calls come in loud and clear no matter the location.

Moto Mods: Insta-Share Projector

The Moto Insta-Share Projector snaps easily onto the Moto Z phone and enables instant sharing of photos and videos.

The Mod projects up to 70” on any flat surface so the big screen is with users every step of the way. With the integrated kickstand, people can project at any angle which allows friends and families to gather together to watch their favorite pictures, shows, and even games.

The Insta-Share Projector comes with built-in battery that provides users with up to one extra hour of screen time before using the phone’s battery.

  • These are expensive handsets and out of reach from most of Pakistani users.
Motorola should learn from OPPO. OPPO did same thing when it launched its smartphones and after a year and half they were only selling 2-3K handsets in a month because of expensive handsets. Than they realised market situation and introduced lower price handsets and now selling around 25-30K handsets per month.
Range of Pakistani buyers is 10K-35K, introduce sets within this range if you want some peice of market share.

    • Bhai aik dafa apne kaha tha telenor 1800 Mhz pe b 4g chalai ga uska kia bna abi tak. Kio k 850 Mhz pe huawei ka koi b international mobile support nai karta. Siwai american variant k. Even mera honor 6 mobile b nai.

      • Telenor is do running its 4G on 1800 MHz i. Few areas of Islamabad. Telenor 4G is still under testing phase and only available at selected areas of 6 cities. Let them spread their 4G coverage.

4G on band 5 850 MHz is an odd choice. You will surprised to know that there are only 8 different mobile companies in 5 countries which are using this band for 4G and 3 of them are USA, India and Pakistan. So handsets to support this band are less. But after launch of Telenor 4G all new mobile phones are being launched with the support of this band.
Huawei should have released an update for past year devices to enable this band if it was not already there like oppo did to its F1s and A37 models.

      • Still much better than Huawei and Samsung. Their 4GB/64GB modrange in 30k or 3GB/32GB in 25K are good.

          • 1st check phone than comment. The way managed mediatek chipset is ammazing. Never held never slowed down. What will someone do if S7 start getting held after e months with exynos or SD chipsets. Handset performance bases on many things beyond chipset.

            • Huawei honor 6x best hai oppo f1s se i think uh ko check karna chaheye …. hd display biger batry . Betr dual camera and future updates. 7.0 coming soon.. Oppo f1s abhi bhi 5.1.1 2017 hai bhai price 29k.. na update ay gi 29k mein 267ppi lolx

    • Do you know how to connect external 4G antenna to Huawei E5573cs-322 as there is no port. Secondly I get no 4G coverage of Zong at home. How to get signals is there any way around

      • Zong’s old MBB devices (both MiFi and Wingle) had antenna port. But in new green color logo devices only wingle has antenna port and MiFi doesn’t have antenna option. It seems like you have new green colored MiFi. And antenna can not be attached to it.

        • Thank you for brief and prompt reply. So is there any way around so that I may get 4G signals at home? Or you know of any antenna which I can use for better signals?

          • There are many antennas available in market. Just go to any big computer accessories shop and ask for an antenna. But you should have an antenna supported device for it.

          • khizar bhai sahi keh rahy hain zafar bhai…zong ki aur telenor ki new devices 4g ki E5573-320 , 322 aur 609(the latest one) main external port nhi hye antena k lae..juggar hye but it needs technical knowledge .. antena jo market mn mil rahy hain wo yagi antena hain magr ap ko btata chalon k un ko bnany ka aik khas tareeqa hota hye aur ap ko buht sari cheezn ka khyal rakhna parta hye …har network diffrent frequancy mn kam kar raha hye so you need a diffrent antena for each frequancy agr best result chahyein … ZONG aur Telenor ki wingle E8372h best hye as it has antena ports and a MIMO port too… so you can connect two antena of diffrent frequancy one for downlink and one for uplink frequancy ..es se mujhy buht faida gowa mere pass 3g bhi nhi chalta tha but now i get 3 signals of zong 4g aur zindgi sakoon mn hay but ye antena mn nain khud bnae hain apny czn ki help ly k as RF is his field..contact me if you need more details at (bravouaf) at gmail

    • flagship phones aren’t designed to be sold to everyone. Exclusivity. That’s exactly the point

  • Moto Z Play for 50K
It’s better to buy a Galaxy A5 2017 for rupees 37750 and 44k with official warranty

  • Bhai. MOTO G & MOTO E launch karo Pakistan main to kamayee karoge.. Warna LG G5 ki copy (read MODs) se kuchh nahi hone wala idhar bhi. Z has tanked in international market immensely & it’s not gonna do good in our market as well.
