The Digital Youth Summit 2017 to Be Held Next Month

The Digital Youth Summit 2017, now in its third edition, is scheduled to take place in Peshawar from the 5th to 7th of May.

Organized by the KP IT Board and the World Bank, DYS 2017 features three days of panel discussions, networking, and a startup pitch competition with cash prizes of up to US$5,000 for the winning team.

Speakers for this year include Nadeem Hussain (founder Planet N), Atif Azim (co-founder Venture Dive), Syed Ismail Shah (Chairman PTA), and Haroon Rashid (singer and co-founder Taazi). International delegates like Dilawar Syed (President, Freshdesk), Iliana Montauk, Max Krueger, Katharine Budd, and Samuel Bretzfield.

The main hall will feature ongoing panel discussions and keynote speeches. Additionally there’s also workshops and side sessions for practical training in areas like SEO, digital marketing, security and privacy, growth hacking, and design thinking.

The conference will also host a startup pitch competition where ten young companies from across Pakistan will have five minutes each to present their solution in front of a panel of judges. The panel consists of Khurram Zafar, Nadeem Hussain, Rabeel Warraich, and Atif Azim – all investors in their personal capacity and heavily involved in the local startup ecosystem.

Companies will be ranked on the basis of existing traction, size of market opportunity, and strength of founding team.

Startups can apply for the pitch competition here.
