Dawn today published a notice on its website to tell everyone that they are under cyber attack, something that’s become a usual occurence for publishers these days.
Dawn said that their website has been under attack for the last three months. It said that attacks are not limited to the website only, but their social media accounts and accounts of staff members have also been put under severe security pressure.
Interestingly, Dawn isn’t the first website in Pakistan that’s been under attack. Actually, if I may speak frankly, all news websites are attacked and DDoSed by hackers for number of reasons.
If you go and check with any publisher, no matter how small or big it is, they will tell you that they have faced similar attacks at least once — if not more.
With such trends, it is worth wondering why Dawn is choosing now to tell everyone that it’s under attack.
Whatever the case, we understand Dawn’s conditions and sentiments, and would advise them to use Google Shield Project for fool proof protection.
Here’s what a message posted on Dawn’s website says:
DAWN has done the right thing.
The only way one can hope to stop a mob from forming these days.
To gain sympathies and run away from Dawn Leaks…….
shameful
They need to hire the IT Staff on merit basis, instead of relationship.
then, they don’t need to put such shameful message, and tell the world that they don’t have IT talent.
LMAO
DAWN Ka Server Koi Shop Wala Chala Raha Hoga :

Jo WikiLeaks K Jaisa Kaam Kare
Dawn want to cry foul later. post something and then say they didnt do it
Sounds like them, guess who owns them. . track back the relationships and bingo you get to the ruling family tree!
So no wonder they have been doing everything to undermine the country, and our religion and everything that we hold dear! Read most of their liberal bullshit and chaotic propaganda.
What a shame! I once wrote to them that they should be ashamed to drive a nail into the fact that Quaid-e-Azam himself inaugurated the paper, and today they are one of the anti-state tools of the Indian government doing their bidding just to protect the “royal” family of Raiwind
