Formation of JIT
After the Panama Case judgment was announced on April 20th a 3 judge bench was created to implement the Supreme Court’s decision. A Joint Investigation Team was constituted to probe into offshore accounts and properties held by the Sharif family.
The special bench, created by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, consists of Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh and Justice Ijazul Ahsan.
Most of the Pakistani population do not support the Panama verdict. According to the Gallup report released recently, only 1 in 3 people liked the Supreme Court’s decision.
