3rd-Dimension H.R.D Solution (a division of TAJMAC Global) organized a two days training session on “Disaster Recovery in the Cloud” subsidized by Microsoft
The session was held at The Nueclues, Karachi on 9th and 10th of May 2017. The event was conducted by Cloudtastic Apps Solutions, division of TAJMAC Global FZE Microsoft Tier-1 Cloud Solutions Partners (CSP) and the first non-DLAR Microsoft P-Seller in Pakistan.
The main theme of the training session was to provide information and understanding of how companies and different organizations can secure their valuable data and IT environment off site in a secure manner without bearing the burden of huge deployment costs. The training session was attended by IT heads and representatives of different organizations including Hubco, Air Blue, Indus hospital, Pakistan Refinery, PWC, and many others.
In the opening remarks, Mr. Junaid Mansoor Sootwala CEO of TAJMAC Global highlighted the importance of disaster recovery in the cloud and why it is crucial for organizations to have a contingency plan for securing their valuable data if they get affected by any unforeseen disasters.
Mr. Junaid Mansoor Sootwala explained how the overall structure behind Microsoft Azure works. He also highlighted disaster recovery options, Azure backup and recovery choices its prerequisites, backup options, Azure servers and how they are configured and installed by giving a live demonstration. All of this was demonstrated as part of business continuity overview.
One the second day of the training Mr. Junaid continued the training session and covered other aspects of “Disaster Recovery in the Cloud” such as Azure site recovery, replication management, scaling migrated VMs, overview of Microsoft operations management suite and the overall costing of DR in the cloud.
On the second day of the training session, Mr. Syed Abdul Qadir (Senior Manager Technology Advisory & Assurance at A.F. Ferguson & Co (PwC Pakistan) also gave a comprehensive session on cyber security and its application in the corporate world. He also went on to explain the history, drawbacks, advantages and challenges of cyber security and how organizations can overcome them.
At the end of the training session, participants were awarded with certificates which were distributed by Mr. Syed Abdul Qadir along with some TAJMAC Group giveaways.
It is pertinent to mention here that the DR training provided a platform for IT professionals working in different organization to learn and understand the concepts, application and implementation of Microsoft Azure disaster recovery system and how it benefits organizations in different scenarios.
