First Pakistan Pharma Export Seminar Held

Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) in collaboration with the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) organized the “1st Pakistan Pharma Export Seminar” on 7th July, 2017.

The theme of seminar was to explore opportunities for Pakistani pharmaceutical products exporters globally. The seminar was widely attended by the management and professionals belonging to the pharmaceutical industries and about 300 participants attended the event.

Chief guest of the seminar was Mrs. Saira Afzal Tarar, Minister of State M/o National Health Services Regulation & Coordination. The Guest of Honor was Khawaja Imran Nazir Minister Primary & Secondary Health and Dr.Muhammad Aslam CEO, DRAP.

PPMA was represented by Dr.Shaikh Kaiser Waheed Chairman PPMA, Dr.Muhammad Tahir Azam Senior Vice Chairman, PPMA, Hamid Raza Chairman Export Committee PPMA.

Dr.Shaikh Kaiser Waheed Chairman PPMA shared that during last 4 years, tremendous developments has been done in drug regulatory system of Pakistan and we are witnessing paradigm shift in the working of DRAP.

Dr.Muhammad Aslam highlighted the various efforts undertaken by DRAP during the last 3 years. He shared that DRAP Pakistan is in the process of getting recognized by international agencies and that the World Health Organization will also recognize DRAP as the certified National Regulatory Authority.

He also shared that renewal inspections of pharmaceutical units are being done on priority. Moreover, registration applications pending since 2010 has been disposed of. He also informed that as per credible figures, the export of pharmaceutical products has been increased which were declining previously.

He also informed that DRAP has prepared a robust system for disposal of registration applications in 2 days time
