Pakistan Agriculture and Research Council (PARC) has announced that its first Food Security Policy draft is ready to be presented in the cabinet for review.
The draft has been finalized in consultation with the provincial partners as said by the PARC Chairman Yusuf Zafar in the 8th Inter Provincial Research Coordination Committee (IPARCC) held at PARC Headquarters in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The main objectives of IPARCC were discussed by Dr Yusuf Zafar which are; increased research coordination among the Federal and Provincial research partners.
Dr Zafar expressed hope that events like these will help in sharing the knowledge, going research activities and increasing the opportunities of collaboration to reach to address these issues more effectively and efficiently as well as to helping in prioritizing the research in the times ahead in National Agricultural Research System (NARS).
Initiatives taken in different provinces to increase research work were discussed in the meeting by Provincial partners of Agriculture and Livestock.
The IPARCC established an agreement to support each other for collaborative research activities, issue based commissioned research projects, policy research, climate change and food security.
