FIA Arrests Men Impersonating Ahsan Iqbal

Federal Investigation Agency’s Cyber Crime Division has held two suspects named Ali Ahmad Bhatti and Sohail Baig, who’re accused of deceiving a university professor by luring him into a fake CPEC-related job and taking a huge amount of money as ‘processing fee’, according to a FIA-issued statement on Friday.

The action was taken against the suspects after the professor filed a FIR No. 55/16 on account of fraud against him. The suspects impersonated Ahsan Iqbal, the Interior Minister and asked for a lot of money.

They are reported to be a part of a gang who defrauds people by offering them fake jobs to receive money in the name of processing fee. The gang is found to be using multiple accounts for such transactions to complicate them.

Both suspects were held by the FIA based on the evidence that their accounts were used for the transaction. Scammers like these are on the move these days and FIA has requested citizens to file reports against such criminals to get rid of the whole gang.

If anyone has any information or is tricked by these impostors, they should inform the authorities at +92300 5226227.
