Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has suspended the license of three pilots from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) over charges of violation of safety rules.
Sources told ProPakistani that CAA was investigating the 3 pilots over concerns that they had indulged in flaunting safety rules. All three of them were found guilty of the same.
CAA Suspends Pilot License
CAA is the license issuance and regulatory authority for pilots working in local airlines. After concluding its investigations, the authority found that all 3 pilots were involved in violating 2 different safety rules while flying their planes.
Captain Amir Hashami and Captain Anwar Adil’s pilot license have been suspended for one year. The license of First Officer Captain Adeel has been suspended for 3 months.
Captain Amir Hashami, a former President of PALPA (Pilots Association), was found guilty of sleeping in the business class compartment and that too during his own flight when he was in command. The incident took place on a flight from Islamabad to London (PK 785) on 26 April.
During the time that Captain Amir Hashami was sleeping, the flight was operated by First Officer Ali Hassan Yazdani and under training pilot Mohammad Asad Ali.
This matter came under notice when a passenger Nazneen Haider reported that he saw a pilot sleeping in the business class section of the plane.
In another incident, Captain Anwar Adil was found guilty of overloading his flight, forcing the passengers to travel while they stood on the plane. The Boeing 777 aircraft AP BID has a seating capacity of 409, including jump seats, while flight PK-743 carried 416 passengers from Karachi to Madina.
Captain Adeel who was the First Officer on flight PK-743, also had his pilot license suspended for 3 months. He was found guilty according the SOP and safety rules. He also failed to report the incident to the management.
PALPA’s Response
A senior office bearer in PALPA told ProPakistani that these pilots licenses were suspended from the date of taking them off air. He also added that the pilots have a personal responsibility to fulfill their obligations.
“On the matter of license suspensions, PALPA is not in a position to do anything. However, if the CAA indulges in undue victimization, we are bound to support our members. But in this case PALPA has no role to play,” the office bearer told.

acha kia
good job done.
Future MAIN Yahi Log PIA K CEO Ban Jayege Ya Apni AIR LINE Le Ayenge :
I think you mean “flouting” not “flaunting” safety rules. Flaunting is almost the opposite of what you are trying to say.
