Later in December this year, cricket world will witness the first T-10 league in the world with international stars. This unique format is an initiative taken by United Arab Emirates. It has blessings of Emirates Cricket Board and is backed by cricket boards of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The ten-over-a-side matches will run for about 90 minutes (45 minute each side) in Sharjah.
The event was announced in Dubai Ballroom of the JW Marriott Marquis on Tuesday night where several prominent personalities from cricket including Inzamam ul Haq, Shahid Afridi, Shaji Ul Mulk, Salman Iaqbal, Eoin Morgan and Misbah-ul-Haq were present.

Most cricketers seem to be pretty excited about the new format. Shahid Afridi says it’s a great idea and will attract people who don’t watch cricket otherwise.
Six franchises make up this tournament – Punjabi Legends, Pakhtoons, Maratha Arabians, Bangla Tigers, Colombo Lions, and Kerala Kings.
There will be a draft at the end of October and around 120 players from around the world will go into the pool. The league will take place between 21-25 December. The tournament has gained approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC) and is being backed by the Emirates Cricket Board.
This four day tournament is going to be as swift as it gets. Inzamam ul Haq was announced to be the brand mentor. Sangakkara, Sehwag and Afridi have been named as brand ambassadors, whereas Pakistan’s Misbah, England’s Morgan and Bangladesh’s Shakib will be team icon players.

“It is history in the making. It is a defining moment in the history of cricket,” says Shaji Ul Mulk. ‘It feels like I ended my career too soon’ were the remarks of Inzamam about this venture, like many others he found it a welcoming gesture for new spectators. The support has been terrific and hopes are high.
In a world where everything and everyone is moving sqiftly, T-10, after the success of T-20, is an innovative idea and is truly going to make history. People will enjoy thrill of cricket without having to commit a number of hours to keep up.
Of course, true cricket lovers won’t consider a 10 over tournament as anything more than an entertainment package since such a short game won’t really require good temperament and technical skills.

Wao that’s amazing !
It’s going to be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s going to be a matchfixers paradise
I think they are overdoing it. There are many leagues around. These are the nails that are being hit for cricket coffin. What’s next, t-5 cricket or t-1 cricket. This is negative innovation. In countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, these are the means for money laundering and converting illegal money to legal. These are my thoughts, if people are really interested and think otherwise, I have no qualms and I have no intention of hurting their sentiments.
i totally agree with you, look at the owners of these teams, each one has a shadowed back ground. Same goes for team owners in PSL. Isn’t it a coincidence that the people involved in psl are the same people involved in t-10 league.
who is shahjee
It amazing to see uae promoting another gambling enterprise . all the team owners of this T-10 league are from shadowed background trying to convert their black money into white. isn’t it a coincidence that the same people who own psl franchises are involved with this t-10 league and Mr. Afridi, Inzi, and Misbah so called Mr. clean are involved actively in this scam. a tv channel owner whose REPORTERS are so called trying to protect Pakistanis from scams do not dare to disclose the fact about this league and the owners because they are on his payroll..
Could’t you think positive regarding Pakistan. going against every one with negative thinking is not a wise decision. What have you done for your country. Did’t you think if you are clean and doing same thing buying franchise and involve in cricket still there will be majority of people thinking like you assuming you as a gambler?
First of all you don’t know who i am and who i know and associate with in business world. I know and have met all current PSL and most of T-10 owners. It is not a negative thinking it is know who is involved. For what i have done for Pakistan, i have brought over 2 billion dollars worth of different investment directly and indirectly for Pakistan and have helped in creating thousands of jobs for Pakistanis. What have you done? I pay for education of over 95 children every month, i am supporting over 20 poor families every month, in last 20 years i have directly and indirectly provided employment to over 10000 people in Pakistan and middle east. I have two engineering degrees from ivy league universities and work as Group COO for a large middle eastern group employing thousands of Pakistanis. So if you think you have
done more for Pakistan and you know these people personally then let me know. By the way Haji Abdul Razzak [ARY] was a known GOLD SMUGGLER, Nasir Schon [drug smuggler, his air line was banned], Javed Afridi [owner of Hair Pakistan /FAW- a front company] his family is a major drug and Iranian diesel smuggler. So before you open your mouth please know the past of some of these people.
I am just asking not blaming ant the issue what i am asking about is just potrating wrong image of Pakistan outside which is now a days our media is doing these days quiet well. If you are doing what you said i salute you sir. My intentions were not to hurt you.We as a nation are not considered good outside thanks to Indian media and few of our media groups as well. What I have done is not that much but what i am doing is to give a positive image of my country every where. I am not giving comments against any one why because that person belongs to Pakistan and that would leave bad impact on us as a nation. I am representative of my nation outside Pakistan and as far as I know if you are commenting on Internet any where any website you should consider who will read your comments and what would be the impact.
Again I am very Sorry if you think I am against you or I hurt you in any way. and I salute you for what you have done or doing right now. Stay Blessed
Please understand not a single individual in the PSL or T45-10 owner has a clean background, they are not interested in improving image of Pakistan but are looking for new avenues of converting their black money to white. I get to meet most of these people on social occasions. I as overseas Pakistani with multiple nationalities work with overseas Pakistanis and found that most Pakistanis are least bothered with improving Pakistan’s image but on contrary work very hard to destroy its image. I am against these leagues as long as clean individuals are involved and are concerned in truly improving Pakistan’s image. Keep on trying and no hard feelings
