As part of its commitment towards a diverse culture and to encourage increased female participation in workforce, Telenor Pakistan in collaboration with Plan International Pakistan celebrated International #DayoftheGirl through a symbolic takeover of Telenor CEO position by Marriam Naeem.
Marriam is a talented young student studying physiotherapy at the Foundation University. She has been associated with Plan International Pakistan for the past two years as a girl advocate where she volunteers her time for cancer children and families at a local hospital in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
Deeply committed, she has led multiple awareness sessions and fund raising campaigns.
While handing over his position, Irfan Wahab Khan said, “As part of our vision to empower societies, Telenor Pakistan greatly encourages diversity and inclusion. We pride ourselves on providing equal opportunities and giving girls a chance to showcase their talent and contribute towards the success of not only the organization but the society as well. I’m positive that this takeover will highlight the need for increased female participation and I hope that it will encourage other girls to break through the traditional barriers and join our organization to help us make a meaningful impact.”
As the symbolic CEO of Telenor Pakistan, Marriam launched Naya Aghaz program for the year 2017 which aims to bridge the transition of females into workplace who’ve been on a career break.
Marriam also announced Open Mind Trainee Program to open for applications later this year which aims at inclusion of persons with disabilities into our society.
Moreover, she also announced Telenor Pakistan to establish 2 ICT labs for young underprivileged girls in public schools.

Good. Www . Awamipost . Com
Cheep publicity. Telenor trying to portray itself as a charity. Why not give permanent jobs to the contractees first.
(y)
right
she must have a strong “Parchi” backing her, otherwise (and still) its sad to see her getting prioritized instead of more qualified ones.
next CEO would be a psychiatrist.
For all those who are saying that…she must have a strong “parchi” and why not computer science grad should go through the article once again its says: “Telenor Pakistan in collaboration with Plan International Pakistan celebrated International #DayoftheGirl ” and this particular girl is associated with Plan international thats why she was chosen probably
I have been in TP myself. I know that very hard working people in TP are victim of office politics. This is why people are leaving it .For internship , TP wants the top class graduates from all universities in Pakistan with impeccable educational record. In addition they have to take test too. For symbolic CEO position , they should have chosen at least an MBA student. Why physiotherapy! Thats 100% sure that she must have a strong parchi or may be some top executive might wanted to show muscle or oblige some relative or friend!
TP is on the way out from Pakistan soon see
I read this article now, with few related comments. Before I read about Telenor HQ345 finalist for th prestigious world architectural festival awards 2018 being tweeted by Mr. Irfan Wahab Khan. You please try to undestand what is Telenor, and what it is trying to achieve. TP is the company home HQ of which is home of Nobel Institute, Oslo where candidates are sent by TP. Pakistan is fortunate to have TP.
