Dry Fruit Prices Increase as Winter Approaches

As the winter season approaches, the rates of dry fruits conceive a sharp incline. The increased demand of dry fruits in the cold season results in their hiked prices.

People, who are fan of dry fruits, are forced to buy them on a significantly higher rate to satisfy their cravings. The most selling dry fruits, that saw a significant hike in prices this year, include cashews, almonds, pistachio and cashew nuts.

The frustrated buyers have complained to the concerned authorities to take strict action against the sudden increase in dry fruit prices. On the other hand, a dry fruit vendor claimed that they, themselves, were taking these dry fruits at exorbitant rates from the merchants.

“We have to spend extra amounts importing dry fruits from Afghanistan, India, Iran, China and Vietnam,” he added.

According to the merchants, the dry fruits will see even more increase in prices in coming days. They avow that the major reason of hiked prices is an increased export of dry fruits and elevated transportation charges.

The citizens complained that there is no check and balance of prices by the government authorities which empowers these vendors to sell the dry fruits at high rates.
