Mobile phones import witnessed a phenomenal growth of 14.94 percent in the current fiscal year (July-November) 2017-18 as it remained $303.238 million compared to $264.009 million during the same period of 2016-17 (July-November).
Mobile phone imports in November 2017 which is $58.246 million were decreased by 11.49 percent than $65.804 million imports in November 2016, but increased by 6.47 percent compared to $54.709 million in October 2017, revealed the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Overall telecom imports saw increase of over 14.02 percent during July-November 2017 compared to the same period of last year.
Total imports were recorded at $563.687 million during this period compared to $494.397 million in July-November 2016.
Telecom import remained $113.522 million and registered 2.71 percent negative growth as compared to $116.690 million during October 2017.
Other telecom apparatus import also witnessed growth of over 12.95 percent in July-November 2017 as it stood at $260.238 million against $230.388 million during the same period of last year.
When compared to the October 2017 other telecom apparatus imports registered over 10 percent negative growth in November as it was $55.276 million compared to $61.981 million in October 2017.
