Toyota Becomes the Best Selling Sedan Maker in Pakistan

One of the biggest car makers in the world, Toyota has once again made massive sales, particularly for its Corolla family of cars.

For the past several years, Toyota has held on to the best-selling sedan car award in the Pakistani market.

According to recent sales figures, Toyota has sold 1.22 million units of Corolla across the world and Pakistan’s Toyota IMC achieved similar success.

Toyota Corolla Silver

According to stats from Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), Toyota IMC sold 4,243 sedan cars in the first month of 2018. In the first half of the current fiscal year 2017-18, IMC sold as much as 25,325 units which makes it the best selling sedan car brand in the country.

Till 30th June 2014, Indus Motors invested Rs 4,211 million in Pakistan and they have registered 57,064 million in turnover. This information was also provided by PAMA.

So it is clear that Toyota is reaping the rewards of its investment made in Pakistan by leading the sedan sales in the country.

The Competitors

One of the biggest competitors of Toyota IMC in the country is Honda Pakistan which was able to sell 3,888 units of Civic and City combined in January 2018.

This gives us a clear idea about IMC’s lead in Pakistan. Unlike previous years though, Honda Civic sales have increased a lot and the total number is only held back by the company’s production capacity. If Honda manages to increase its production numbers, Corolla might face tougher competition.

Toyota IMC plans to improve its SUV lineup by rolling out the new Fortuner and Revo models. More diesel-fueled SUVs are already in the pipeline as well.
