‘Tamgha-e-Azm’ Recommended for Police & Armed Forces Fighting Against Terrorism

In order to recognize the sacrifices in the line of duty, Ministry of Defense has recommended a new “Tamgha-e-Azm” for armed forces personnel and law enforcement personnel.

The medal will be awarded to the distinct personnel of the Armed Forces, the Civil Armed Forces, and the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) who are fighting day and night against terrorism. Members of following forces will be eligible for the distinction;

  • All three Armed Forces,
  • Civil Armed Forces,
  • Janbaz,
  • Mujahid,
  • National Guards,
  • Maritime Security Agency, and
  • Police


Pakistan Ranked Among Top 10 Weapon Importers in the World

People who have been an active part of the above-mentioned forces from 11th December 2001 and onwards are eligible for the award.


Khurram Dastgir Khan, Federal Minister for Defence, while recommending the medal said;

Tamgha-e-Azm will boost the morale of our patriotic forces and encourage their resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism and extremism from the soil of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The deserving individuals are expected to be decorated with the medals on Pakistan Day on 23rd March.
