Afridi To Decide & Sign For a Big Bash Franchise Soon

Following a disastrous campaign in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018, Lahore Qalandars fans have finally been given a reason to smile.

The pacer, Shaheen Afridi, has received interest from at least two Big Bash League (BBL) teams for the next season.

The 17-year-old has delivered some phenomenal performances in the on-going PSL. However, due to poor performance from the rest of the side, Afridi’s ability has massively suffered.

His spell of 5 wickets for just 4 runs remains the best spell of the tournament so far. Overall, he has taken 7 wickets in the tournament, at an economy of 8.32.

According to local media reports, the youngster is currently in talks with both interested Australian domestic teams. The reports also add that Afridi is yet to make his decision but he will be announcing it soon.

The source quotes:

Afridi also holds an offer from the prestigious Marylebone Cricket Club, and will be representing Dhaka Dynamites in the next season of Bangladesh Premier League.

It’s not a surprise that Afridi has been the talk of the town since he has been impressing in most of the tournaments he has so far featured in.

His 12-wickets in the U-19 World Cup earlier this year also convinced a number of people that Afridi will go on to represent Pakistan one day.

The great Wasim Akram has also praised Afridi. He said:

He is a left arm bowler, he is tall and he remembers me of my youth, as his bowling action is also identical, coming in sideways, extract bounce.
