Leaked Samsung Galaxy S9+ Mini is Actually Called Dream-Lite

Remember the S9+ Mini that got leaked a few days ago? Turns out its another phone altogether.

The so-called Samsung S9+ Mini is actually going to come with different specifications than previously announced, and will be called Samsung Galaxy Dream-Lite. It won’t be a part of the S series after all.

Tiny Flagships

For those who don’t know, Samsung and other companies often make a mini version of their flagship phones like the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact or Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini. These often have similar specs as the original flagship but come with a smaller size, evident from the “Mini” or “Compact” acronyms.

Samsung Galaxy Dream-Lite showed up on TENAA for certification before release, under the SM-8850 model number. More details on TENAA’s official page mentions another model with slightly lower specifications, labeled as SM-8750.

Samsung Galaxy Dream-Lite (Rumored as S9+ Mini)

New details about the phone suggest 2 different variants, one with a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display with QHD+ (2960 x 1440) resolution while the other will have a 6.28 inch OLED screen and Full HD+ (2220 x 1080) resolution.

In terms of hardware, it will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 on the high end model and Snapdragon 660 on the lower end version. Moreover, they will come with 4/6 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot. Both phones will be running Android 8.0 Oreo.

For the cameras they will have dual 12 MP sensors on the back. The battery units for the two phones will be 3,000 mAh and 3,700 mAh respectively.

Unfortunately, Samsung Galaxy Dream-Lite will be limited to China only, so you can’t get your hands on the phone in Pakistan.
