Caretaker PM Mulk’s Interim Cabinet Sworn In

Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (r) Nasirul Mulk’s appointed members for the interim cabinet were sworn in after taking oath at the President House today.

President Mamnoon Hussain administered oaths to the six-member interim cabinet at the President House.

The cabinet includes former governor of State Bank Shamshad Akhtar, former Pakistan ambassador to the United Nations Abdullah Hussain Haroon, former senator Roshan Khursheed Bharucha, Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh, Mohammad Azam Khan, and Syed Ali Zafar.

Shamshad Akhtar will be the finance minister in the caretaker setup while Abdullah Hussain Haroon will be given the portfolio of the foreign ministry.

Mulk had indicated that he would go for a small-sized cabinet and said that fair elections will be held on time.

Mulk took oath as the caretaker Prime Minister at the President House on June 1.
He assumed oath as seventh caretaker PM in an official ceremony held at the Presidency, a day after the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government completed its five-year constitutional term.
