Instagram is offering more and more features to its users as Instagram stories have reached a milestone of 400 million users per day.
The company has recently introduced another feature, letting users add background music to their Stories, with thousands of songs to choose from offered directly in the app.
The songs will include popular music by artists like Bruno Mars, Demi Lovato, and Maroon 5. Instagram says new songs will be added as the time goes on.

It is important to note here that Instagram is coming directly in competition with other music apps like musically and others.
Users can add songs to their stories by dragging and dropping “music” stickers just like location and hashtag stickers on your posts. After dropping the sticker users will have to choose songs from list or would be able to search them.
There will be three tabs in the music sticker, that are going to be Popular, Mood and Genre to choose music from along with a search bar on top.
When you’ve selected your song, you can fast-forward and rewind through the track to choose the exact part that fits your story.”
Instagram had previously added deep linking to Spotify in Stories, but the new stickers go one step further by actually playing the music you’ve chosen in the background.
It’s also started testing a Lip Sync Live feature with a collection of chart-topping hits.
The music sticker feature rolls out for both iOS and Android, but the ability to choose music before recording will be limited to iOS for now.
