Xiaomi Confirms Mi Max 3 Launch Date

Xiaomi is set to launch its next budget phablet, the Mi Max 3.

Just like the predecessor Mi Max 2, the upcoming phone is going to feature a large screen size and a big battery – it already appeared in TENAA’s listings but now we have official confirmation for its release date.

Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO, posted its retail box on his official social network account a few days back. Now, Xiaomi’s official Weibo page has now posted a new image to finally announce an official launch date for the Mi Max 3.

As seen in the post above, it’s arriving on 19th of July with a “large screen and battery” – two key selling points for the Mi Max lineup.

Specifications

There is no official confirmation on its specifications as of yet, but some of the internals have been detailed on the Mi Max 3’s TENAA listing. It’s going to come with some Octa-core CPU, clocked at 1.8 GHz, but its exact make and model has not been confirmed yet. Could be from Qualcomm, but Mediatek’s Helio chipsets are also quite popular in budget phones.

Additionally, its display panel is going to measure a whopping 6.99-inch at an 18:9 aspect ratio (so trimmed bezels) and FHD+ resolution. It will also have a fingerprint scanner, which is mounted on the rear this time.

On the rear, it has a dual-camera array consisting of a 12 MP main camera paired with an 8 MP secondary depth sensor. Front camera will manage up to 5 MP selfies.

The software is surely going to be Android Oreo, with Xiaomi’s MIUI 9.5 on top. And for the best part, it’s going to feature a massive 5400 mAh battery. We don’t much about how much RAM and storage its going to come with for now.

Expect complete coverage when it launches on the 19th of July.
