Shaheen Air’s International Flight Operations Suspended by Civil Aviation Authority

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has suspended Shaheen International’s (SAI) flight operations (except for Saudi Arabia). The CAA has also threatened to suspend their domestic flight operation in coming days.

Shaheen Air defaulted on a debt and owed over Rs. 1.5 billion to the CAA and going forward, will not be able to use booking counters and boarding gates for its international flights.

All foreign passengers who intend to travel on international flights with SAI are advised to make alternative arrangements from today in order to avoid any inconvenience.

SAI is undergoing a serious financial crisis. To fulfill its financial obligations, SAI’s management has decided to cut down its fleet and staff. Despite efforts to remain in business, SAI’s current issues show no signs of abating.

ProPakistani has contacted the management for comments regarding CAA’s impending decision. However, they remain tight-lipped.
