The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), has announced to build Pakistan’s first ever digital city very soon.
The digital city would be established in Haripur, a town situated behind Islamabad’s Margalla Hills.
Kamran Khan Bangash, who is the Special Assistant to Chief Minister K-P Mehmood Khan on Science & Technology and Information Technology, announced this news on his Twitter handle.
“Industrial revitalization in IT Sector is the cry of the day. We’re soliciting preliminary survey from National & International investors/industries for “Pakistan Digital City Haripur,” only 30 minutes’ drive from Islamabad,” Kamran tweeted.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) has also made it known that they will transform the site into a platform where a variety of businesses and tech corporations could operate.
The board said it would allow the companies to obtain the land on lease and welcomed private investors to partake in the initiative.
KPITB has asked for feedback and requirements from all potential investors to develop a city as per industry-specific demands.
