Total’s “Startupper of the Year” Competition is Back!

Are you a social entrepreneur with an idea that can make a difference? Take part in Total’s Startupper of the Year Challenge and you could get financial support along with professional coaching to take your start-up off the ground.

The Startupper of the Year challenge is part of Total’s corporate social responsibility to help young entrepreneurs who are alleviating social issues in their communities. The first edition of the challenge was held in 2015 and was only limited to African countries.

However, Total has now initiated this challenge in almost 60 countries, including Pakistan. Total has also introduced a Top Female Entrepreneur category to encourage more female entrepreneurs to participate in the challenge, as female participants only accounted for 13% in the previous edition.

The eligibility criteria for the Startupper of the Year is:

  • The start-up enterprise should not be more than 2 years old
  • The start-up enterprise should be run by individuals between the age 18 to 35 years
  • The idea behind the start-up should be innovative and feasible
  • The start-up should have the potential to create a positive impact in the community at large

Three winners will be selected from each country, who will then be provided with financial support, professional coaching as well as worldwide publicity. Total will also select six grand winners from each region who will then be offered additional support.
