Communication Ministry Generated the Highest Income During First 100 Days of Govt

The Ministry of Communications and its attached organizations generated Rs. 3.72 billion on account of better governance, austerity, and accountability under the 100-day plan of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf led government.

The Minister of State for Communications Murad Saeed shared the Ministry’s achievements under the Prime Minister’s 100-days agenda at a press conference.

Saeed said that his ministry will complete all projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework in time.

The Ministry of Communication successfully implemented the 100 days plan in Communications and allied departments of the ministry and achieved targets before the stipulated time period.

During the period in question, the Ministry generated an additional Rs. 1,412.48 million in revenue due to good governance, Rs. 1,596 million from a campaign against encroachment, Rs. 208.85 million from the auction of 202 vehicles, saved Rs. 36.11 million by reducing expenditures and Rs. 468.29 million from an audit.

The minister said that the National Highway Authority (NHA), in order to achieve self-sustainability, has launched a programme to maximize its revenue through improved governance and innovative initiatives.

Resultantly, NHA collected Rs. 1.24 billion more revenue compared with the corresponding period of last year. Overall, NHA successfully generated Rs 3.08 billion during the first 100 days of the new government.
