Uber, one of the top online ride-hailing services in Pakistan, has increased its ride fares across the country.
The new fare policy will come into effect from today (Monday, December 10).
The reason behind the rise in fares, as the company has cited in its blog, is the fair share of ‘benefits’ for both the rider and the customer.
However, sources privy to the matter state that Uber partners had been demonstrating against the company’s revised fare policy where it had allocated fixed fares for the rides according to distance.
The partners had threatened to quit if the policy was not revisited.
Following the backlash, the company has agreed to increase base fare for the rides across the country.
The new pricing policy varies from city to city. The complete list of the pricing is as follows:
