Popular Oil & Ghee Products Found Unfit for Human Consumption in Pakistan

Punjab Food Authority has declared some top-selling cooking oils and ghee as unfit for consumption after a laboratory test.

PFA Director General Noor-ul-Amin Mangal has issued a public notice in national newspapers giving informing the public about the quality of everyday cooking products.

As per the notice, PFA conducted random sampling of cooking oils and ghee and after a lab test; it found that the following products are unfit for human consumption due to rancidity, lack of Vitamin A, artificial flavour addition, low saponification value and higher acid value.

  • Shan Cooking Oil
  • Shan Banaspati
  • Smart Canola Cooking Oil
  • Ghani Cooking Oil
  • Shah Taj Cooking Oil
  • Soya Supreme Cooking Oil
  • Kashmir Canola Oil
  • Cuko Banaspati
  • Sufi Sunflower Cooking Oil
  • Soya Supreme Banaspati
  • Olio Premium Canola Oil
  • Momin Cooking Oil
  • Maya Banaspati
  • Momin Banaspati
  • Season Banaspati
  • Sundrop Cooking Oil
  • Tullo Banaspati
  • Naz Banaspati
  • Kissan Vegetable Ghee
  • Salovi Spanish Olive Oil
  • Maan Banaspati
  • Malta Banaspati


  • And still nothing will be done. These companies will continue to sell their products and PFA staff will continue to get their salaries and public will continue to swallow unhealthy products.
