The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to digitize all hospital systems and diagnostic centers across the province.
Provincial health minister Dr. Hisham Inamullah Khan, announced this while chairing a meeting in Peshawar. He told that the health department would set up a full-fledged IT Department to coordinate will all the hospitals in managing the digital data and addressing shortcomings.
Digitizing the hospital systems will ensure the availability of proper records of patients along with relevant medicine and medical equipment.
The minister further said that the department would computerize availability of medicines in the hospitals and basic health units to ensure the latest health facilities to people.

For recording the personal information and the medical history of the patients, special forms will be generated and will be made available publicly for reference.
Moreover, there will be a computerized system for the supply of medicines so that medicines are acquired as per requirement.
The meeting also included Health Advisor Dr. Jawad Wasif, district health officers, the Hayatabad Medical Center (HMC) Medical Director Dr. Shahzad Akbar, and several others.
The minister asked the HMC Director to speed up the construction of a new casualty block, orthopedic and spine unit at the HMC while telling him that all the resources required for the project will be made available on time.
