Viral Video About PIA’s Property in Amsterdam is Fake: PIA

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has categorically refuted claims made in a video clip which states that the airline has been paying rent of a large building despite having the flight operations suspended.

The Pakistani-origin Twitter user in Amsterdam claimed that PIA has been paying 15 thousand Euro (2.4 million PKR) per month as rent, despite having the office closed for eight years.

The airline came hard at the individual and refuted his claims via a series of tweets on Friday.

“PIA refutes the contents of a video clip, by an individual misinforming the viewers regarding a  PIA property in Amsterdam,” the national flag-career said in its first tweet.

It clarified that the property mentioned in the viral video clip was ‘owned by the airline’ and not rented.

The airline’s official Twitter account further explained that according to international laws, being an airline, PIA cannot utilize the building for any other purpose.

The airline has therefore kept the building closed ever since it closed flight operation to the Netherlands.

“The airline management is well aware of it, and an adequate decision will be taken accordingly,” the tweet added.

The national airline also blamed that the individual who made the claims against PIA in the viral video has made a deliberate attempt to defame it.

“The individual in the clip is not well informed nor possesses any knowledge concerning PIA property and or the prevailing rules of the land. This video is made deliberately to defame the airline and is purely based on misinformation.”
