A session court has sentenced a man to eight years in jail over creating fake Facebook profiles and uploading pictures of women.
Ahsan Shiraz has been convicted of cybercrime charges. Moreover, Additional Sessions Judge, Kulsoom Bashir, has also fined him an amount of Rs. 50,000.
As per the available details, Syed Mehboob, had lodged a case with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) noting that an individual named Ahmed Shiraz was violating Pakistan’s cybercrime laws.

The FIA conducted an investigation and a court trial ensued. In the trial, the said judge found the accused guilty of all charges and sentenced him to eight years in prison.
It needs to be noted here that earlier in 2017, another man from Peshawar was sent to jail for 12 years. He had created a fake Facebook profile of a woman and blackmailed her.
FIA had arrested the convict named Muhammad Munir in March 2015 as per the Electronics Transaction Ordinance 2002. A fine of Rs.0.3 million was also imposed on him. The sentence was handed down by Additional Sessions Judge Usman Ali. It was the first time someone was jailed for 12 years in a cybercrime case.
