Update: Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has tendered a general apology on Twitter for his allegedly racial remarks. In a series of tweets, Sarfraz opined that his comments were “not directed towards anyone in particular.”

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed may face a suspension of three to four One Day Internationals for his alleged racial remarks against the South African all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo.
Pakistan skipper had made the controversial remarks during the second ODI against South Africa on Tuesday.
Though Sarfraz wasn’t speaking to the Protease all-rounder or anyone else on the field, his remarks were caught on the stump mic.
He said:
“Abey Kaaley, Teri Ammi Aaj kaha baithi huyeen hain, Hain??? Kya parhwa ke aya hai aaj tu?” which translates as, “Hey black [man], where is your mother sitting? What [kind of prayer] did you ask her to say for you today?”
The video of the incident went viral on social media and attracted a heap of criticism.
The following morning, Pakistan skipper was summoned by the match referee Ranjan Madugalle who sought an explanation on the matter.
Sources suggest that Sarfraz pleaded guilty before him but said this wasn’t intentional. The skipper also apologized and felt embarrassed for the words he uttered.
The referee has reportedly forwarded his report to ICC which is expected to announce its decision in a few hours.
If found guilty‚ Sarfaraz faces four to eight suspension points, which means he might be banned for four ODI’s/T20s or two Tests if he receives four suspension points.
