Dr. Shahid Masood Released on Bail

Senior journalist and renowned TV anchor Dr. Shahid Masood has been released from jail after Supreme Court approved his bail for the PTV corruption case.

Justice Manzoor Ahmed of the Apex Court, while hearing the bail plea, observed that all three suspects named in the case are already on bail, why has Dr. Shahid’s plea remained unheeded?

The two-member bench led by Justice Manzoor then released the senior journalist against bail bonds worth Rs. 500,000.

This is the first time in recent history that a well-known media person has spent over two months in jail without even being convicted for a case.

Several politicians and media persons had voiced their concerns in his favor stating that when known embezzlers like Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur can be released on bail, why can’t he be released?
