Pakistan’s Nuclear Capability is Better than India & Israel: Report

A report has revealed that Pakistan is still maintaining nuclear dominance over its bitter rivals India and Israel.

According to a detailed post published by Business Insider, Pakistan’s nuclear weapons are higher in number and have the ‘credible minimum deterrence’ or the capability to ward off the enemy with the lowest number of nukes possible, the journal has reported.

As per the report, Pakistan – ranked sixth among the nine nuclear states – is believed to have 150 nuclear weapons. On the contrary, India is still ten warheads short with the weapon count rank of 7.

Pakistan was also ahead of its arch-rival in last year’s report, which stated that the country had an estimated 130-140 nuclear weapons while India was said to have about 120-130 of them.

Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, the nuclear scientist and the founder of Pakistan’s atomic programme, claimes that the country has the capability to target India in five minutes.

Similarly, Israel is estimated to have 80 nukes and occupies 8th place in the weapon count rank. The report mentions that only the Israeli establishment knows the actual count of their weapons.

The report said that while the US and Russia were slowly reducing their nuclear arsenals, they are modernizing their capacities.

It identifies that Russia has built an underwater nuclear capability that could kill millions of people in a single blast.

The total number of nuclear weapons in Russia’s control could easily end all life on earth, it added.

The report shows the estimated number of nuclear warheads owned by the following countries:

  • Russia  – 6,850,
  • USA – 6,450,
  • France – 300,
  • China – 280,
  • Pakistan – 150,
  • Britain – 215,
  • India – 130-140,
  • Israel – 80,
  • North Korea – 60.

    • 60 nukes look measly when compared to US’s almost 7000. However it’s a NUCLEAR bomb. With up to 80 times the power of the ones used on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Just one of those will result in a catastrophic loss of life unlike anything the world has seen before. NK has more than enough nukes to start a global nuclear war which will result in not hundreds of millions, but billions of lives lost.

  • misguiding headline.

it’s only the high number of nukes, no where in the report / article does it say if they are better, more capable or worse.

    • According to a detailed post published by Business Insider, Pakistan’s nuclear weapons are higher in number and have the ‘credible minimum deterrence’ or the capability to ward off the enemy with the lowest number of nukes possible, the journal has reported.

      • And how does it prove that Pakistani nuclear capability is better?

Just another false claim made to the gullible pakistanis

  • It may sound an exceptional marvel but, we need to reduce our stock pile. I know that there would be arguments that our neighborhood is hostile and so on. Let’s take the first step and let the whole world know that nuclear weapons are not the future.

  • Pakistan wants peace and stability in all the countries of the region and will not join the nuclear arms race. Pakistan’s nuclear weapons are only for defence rather than aggression. Pakistan also, supports the nuclear non-proliferation but the unresolved Kashmir dispute poses a great threat to regional stability.

  • Just another clickbait headline to fool the gullible Pakistanis

The quality of education in Pakistan is worse than any Asian nation……believing that pakistani nuke tech is better is laughable…..ow come then Pakistan isn’t a part of global nuclear fusion research then?

Cannot make a bicycle but dreaming about such complex tech

  • Pakistan has established a comprehensive and effective national nuclear security regime which is at par with the latest international standards and guidelines. The regime is based on an extensive legislative and regulatory framework governing the security of nuclear material, radioactive substances, associated facilities and activities. This is backed by strong institutions and organizations with the requisite authorities, resources and trained manpower for effective implementation.

  • Nuclearization in the perspective of balance of power in South Asia provides security and regional stability. Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and its nuclear program is for minimum credible deterrence as well as to restore the balance of power in region. being the initiator of arms race in the region and the very state which keeps on its belligerent activities in order to gain attention and to disturb the worsening strategic equilibrium in between Pakistan and India. India is rapidly modernizing its conventional, non-conventional and network-centric platforms. A global approach for promoting trade and building cooperation and to exercise restraints in the arms control domain must be taken into consideration.

  • “…bitter rivals India and Israel”

Why have no one notifed me that Israel is now our bitter rival? Seriously, why am I the always the last one to be notified? Unacceptable! I demand suo-moto action!

On a more serious note, the number of nuclear weapons under Pakistan’s SPD is classified. These reports are just guesstimates. One reason such reports inflate numbers for Pakistan is because we are pursuing tactical nuclear weapons which are smaller in yield. India, meanwhile, is building an entire nuclear city in Chellakere.

Coming to capability, both India and Israel have operational nuclear triads while Babur 3 SLCM isn’t operational with Pakistan Navy, yet. We do have different types of operational missiles but they are available on limited platforms. For example, Ra’ad ALCM is operational on Mirages only. The point of discussing all this is that, while Pakistan is making great strides (e.g. MIRV, JF-17 Block III, etc.), such reports in international media seek to hype the threat posed by Pakistani nuclear weapons while minimizing the threat for India and Israel. Kindly don’t do their bidding.

Ps. Both India and Israel are pursing ICBM. Pakistan is not. Who is more dangerous to the world? Certainly not Pakistan with Shaheen-III which has a maximum range of 2,750KM.

    • Pakistan isn’t pursuing ICBM because you can’t

You need brains for that….just think about it…….if you really had the capability for making ICBMs, would you need China to launch your satellites? ICBMs and Space rockets work on the same principle

Regarding the world taking Pakistan as a threat…well 95% of the terrorist activities can be traced back to Pakistan. Even 9/11 was planned by Pakistanis. Pakistanis make the worst immigrants. Google Rotherham Scandal and see what i am talking about….or the British grooming gangs
