Karachi Kings beat Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets Man of the Match: Iftikhar Ahmed (KK) |
---|
Low-scoring games often produce great results. So, did this one as Karachi needed a mere 134 to win.
No big scores from Babar Azam and Colin Munro meant that someone else had to step up to get the team across the line. Liam Livingstone’s 38 and Iftikhar Ahmed’s 33* made sure Karachi didn’t crumble under pressure.
For his all-round performance (2/4 and 33*), Iftikhar Ahmed got the man of the match award.
Lahore Qalandars innings never got going after being put into bat by Imad Wasim.
Despite losing just 5 wickets, Fakhar Zaman’s team never really upped the ante and managed only 133/5, a score which was always going to be an easy target.
Things are getting interesting in the 4th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) as all the teams are in contention for the play-offs qualification.
It is time for PSL’s biggest rivalry as Lahore Qalandars takes on Karachi Kings. In the previous meeting, Lahore successfully defended 138 against a strong Karachi batting unit.

Lahore Qalandars:
AB de Villiers now has an average of 61.66 in 5 matches, scoring 185 runs in 6 innings. We saw the best of him in the successful chase of 200+ against Multan Sultans and the cricket fans would love to see another explosive innings from Mr 360.
Karachi Kings:
Umer Khan has already dismissed the likes of AB de Villiers, Luke Ronchi and Shane Watson in his first few matches. His maturity as a bowler will be tested yet again and the cricket lovers would love to see him grow as a bowler.
