Redmi Note 7 Pro Launched With a Better Chipset

As if the previous Redmi Note phone wasn’t good enough, Xiaomi has launched another, better version.

The Redmi Note 7 Pro features a more powerful chipset and a better (?) camera setup at a slightly higher price.

Everything else, however, is the same as the original Redmi Note 7.

Design and Display

Redmi Note 7 Pro features the exact same build as its non-pro sibling, with Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and back and plastic in-between. There’s a beautiful looking gradient design on the back, and the Redmi logo at the bottom.

The front features a waterdrop notch on the display, which measures 6.3-inches at Full HD+ (2340 x 1080) resolution and a decent screen to body ratio.

Internals and Storage

Redmi has outfitted the Note 7 Pro with a Snapdragon 675 processor, which is slightly more powerful than the one in the regular Note 7 (Snapdragon 660).

You get to choose from two different memory options of 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage or 6GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Storage is expandable via a microSD card slot.

The Note 7 Pro will run Xiaomi’s propietary MIUI 10 skin, over Android 9.0 Pie.

Cameras

A notable upgrade here is the Pro version’s 48 MP Sony IMX586 camera paired with a 5 MP sensor, which should be better than the 48MP Samsung GM1 camera that the regular Note 7 has.

The front camera is the same at 13 MP.

Battery and Charging

This has also seen no change as Redmi has opted to go for the same 4,000 mAh battery for the Redmi Note 7 Pro, complete with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging support.

There’s no wireless charging on this one, as that feature is usually reserved for higher-end phones.

Price and Availability

The phone will be available in India from March 13, for a price of INR 13,999 (Rs. 27,500) for the 4GB RAM variant and INR 16,999 (Rs. 33,300) for the 6GB variant.

We will update you as soon as we receive any news of Redmi Note 7 Pro from Mi Pakistan.
