Huawei’s Honor Tab 5 has been announced with an 8-inch display and a large battery. The design of the tablet is typical and not very aesthetically pleasing but if you are looking for performance, this tablet might be it.
This tablet is basically a variant of the Huawei Honor MediaPad T5 that originally had a 10.1-inch display. Let’s take a glance at this variant of the MediaPad T5.
Design and Display
As mentioned earlier, the design and aesthetics of the tablet are not something you drool over. It has a conventional look, however, there has been seen improvement in the display specs as compared to its predecessors.
The 8.0-inch display features 1200 x 1920 resolution with an aspect ratio of 16:10. The display also features eye comfort and blue light filter mode.
Internals and Storage
The processor used is an octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 710. The GPU used is ARM Mali-T830 MP2, 2 Cores which provides a solid gaming experience. The tablet comes with two variants:
- 3 GB RAM and 32 GB in-built memory
- 4 GB RAM and 64 GB in-built memory
The internal memory is expandable up to 512 GB via a microSD card.
The operating system used is Android 9.0 (Pie), topped with Magic UI 2.0.
Apart from this, the speakers of the tablet are quite impressive. They come with Harman Kardon tuning. Moreover, the tablet comes in a Wi-Fi and LTE version. Pricing for both is different.
Cameras
There is nothing special about the cameras as there’s a single rear camera with an 8 Megapixel sensor and a simple selfie camera with an 8 Megapixel sensor. Both the cameras lack an LED flash.

Honor Tab 5 comes with 5,100 mAh battery capacity. This specification is where the Honor Tab 5 gets its superiority. The large battery size compliments the GPU and makes the tablet ideal for gaming.
