Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, has announced the induction of a new vessel in Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) fleet. The ship is named Bolan.
The new carrier is a MoGas Carrier LR-1 vessel which promises to decrease the country’s reliance on foreign vessels for freight movement.
The Federal Minister took to Twitter to share the news with the nation. He said:
It gives me great pleasure to inform the Pakistani nation that PNSC has added to its fleet a MoGas Carrier LR-1 vessel.

According to Zaidi, the carrier will help save millions of dollars as Pakistan aims to move towards self-reliance.

The minister also promised to add another vessel to PNSC fleet in summer this year. He also congratulated the stakeholders for the acquisition.
In another tweet, he said, “I congratulate Chairman, the board & management of PNSC for this successful acquisition. Inshallah another vessel will be added to the PNSC fleet before the end of Summer 2019”.
