PCB Announces 23 Players for Fitness Tests & Final World Cup Selection

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released a list of 23 players called for a fitness test ahead of the World Cup and Wahab Riaz and Umar Akmal are not in contention.

Fast bowler Wahab Riaz and middle-order batsman Umar Akmal are currently in red-hot form in the ongoing Pakistan ODI Cup in Rawalpindi, however, the team management and selection committee have decided not to include them among the probables.

PCB will conduct a fitness test at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on April 15 and 16, a press release from PCB confirmed.

According to the presser, the selection committee will announce the squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 on April 18.

Given below are the names of 23 players invited for the fitness test in Lahore.

Note that Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to leave for England on April 23 where they will play a one-off T20 followed by a five-match ODI series ahead of World Cup 2019.
