Samsung Announces the End of its J-Series Smartphones

The smartphone industry is one of the fastest evolving markets in the world, so it makes sense if a series dies out in 2 years or so.

News of Samsung Galaxy J-series being done has been circulating on the market since September 2018. Recently, a video commercial for Samsung Galaxy A30 and A50 in Malaysia confirmed the news. It shows that the J series has been discontinued officially and has been taken over by the A series.

We don’t know why the J series was discontinued but the back to back releases in the A-series hinted that it was going away sooner or later. Samsung has gone forth with a number of advancements in the A-series mainly when it comes to the super AMOLED screens and the dual/triple camera sensors (A10 is an exception). The larger and longer lasting batteries is a feature found in all the A-Series phones.

All the A-series smartphones have an affordable price tag and mid-range specifications. After the launch of A10, A20, A30, A40, A50, A70 we were all waiting for an A80. However, Rumors have suggested Samsung is going to launch the new A90 in its upcoming Galaxy event. The phone will have a sliding camera mechanism for its selfie camera which definitely hints at a thin bezel screen.
