Lahore Investigation Headquarters has conducted an exercise to assess the performance of senior supervisory police officers.
This performance test has been aced by SP Anoosh Masood Chaudhry once again. She heads the Model Town investigation wing. Anoosh made the news a few months ago for being declared as the best performer in solving criminal cases in 2018.
This time, she has secured the top position among the SPs of all the six divisions of the provincial capital with 346 marks.
The Cantonment Division Investigation SP Shahnawaz Khan bagged the second position with 323 marks while the City Division SP Naveed Irshad came third with 299 marks. Lahore’s Investigation Headquarters has awarded the marks after reviewing the crime data of the six police divisions of the city.
The criteria set for this purpose was based on two major objectives, i.e., to assess the supervisory skills of the SPs who head the investigation wings and to build a healthy competition among the officials.
Performance Test
According to the sources, the investigation wing of the provincial capital has been neglected for a long time when compared to the operations wing in terms of resource allocation including required staff and budget.

The exercise was arranged by a think tank consisting of senior officers of the Investigation Headquarters. It conducted this exercise as a new strategy to improve the investigation wing while using available resources.
Under the new strategy, the Investigation Headquarters had set targets for Lahore’s divisional SPs of investigation wing. The think tank collected data of the crimes reported between Jan 1, 2019, and March 31 for the performance evaluation.
After analyzing the data, the Investigation Headquarters declared Model Town Investigation Wing’s Dr. Anoosh as the outstanding officer among all.
“After careful perusal of crime data of the six divisions for two months regarding arrest of proclaimed offenders and challaning of all reported cases of robbery, dacoity, property disputes, Dr. Anoosh was awarded 346 marks under the criteria, set by the Investigation Headquarters, clinching the first position out of the six divisions,” states an official letter issued by the Lahore’s Investigations SSP.
Out of 346 marks, 318 were for arresting 117 (POs) of ‘A’ category and 240 of ‘B’ category. Anoosh was awarded 17 and 10 marks for submitting the maximum number of challans of the aforementioned cases reported in the division.
