Amid the ongoing crisis in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Chairman Ehsan Mani will meet Imran Khan in Islamabad today.
According to the sources, the main agenda of the meeting is Pakistan Super League (PSL), however, with PCB in disarray, it looks like the meeting will revolve around the Board of Governors and the Wasim Khan saga.
Despite the fact that the meeting was scheduled two weeks ago, it will now focus more on the Wolrd Cup 2019 and the miserable state of affairs at the cricket’s governing body in Pakistan.
Board officials have confirmed that MD Wasim Khan is not going anywhere, however, the mounting pressure from the BoG can change things quickly.
The prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, is also the patron-in-chief of PCB and he can interfere in the board matters, however, it will send a negative message as ICC clearly doesn’t like intervention from the government in the cricket affairs of a country.
It remains to be seen whether Ehsan Mani and board officials can convince the BoG to accept Wasim Khan’s appointment, which according to the officials was done after BoG’s approval last year.
