As soon as Oppo’s budget-friendly smart-phone A5s was launched, there were rumors that Oppo was working on an entry-level smartphone called A1K. That smartphone was just announced in Russia and looks like a slightly downgraded variant of Oppo’s mid-range smartphone A1, launched last year.
This entry-level smartphone has been certified in Thailand and comes with a dewdrop notch and ditches the fingerprint sensor to make it budget friendly.
Design and Display
The phone features a generic design with a single camera on the back. The company’s logo is incorporated at the center.
Coming to the front it features a 6.1-inch display with HD+ (720 x 1520) resolution and a dew drop notch. The aspect ratio is 19.5:9 and the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Internal and Storage
Oppo A1K is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The chipset is paired with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB built-in memory and it runs on Android 9.0 Pie topped with Oppo’s ColorOS 6.0.
The rear camera features a single 8 MP sensor with a dual-LED flash and the selfie camera has a 5 MP lens. Since this is an entry-level phone, we cannot expect much from the camera.
Battery and Pricing
This entry-level phone is packed with a 4,000 mAh battery. We don’t know if it has fast charging but considering the other specifications, we don’t think it will be fast charging enabled.
The pricing worldwide is not known yet but according to a report by 91 mobiles, it will be released in India at a price tag of INR 7990 (PKR 16,250)
