Hot & Dry Weather Expected in Southern Parts of the Country: PMD

The summers have arrived and the Met Office has forecasted hot and dry weather for most parts of the country in the coming days.

Very hot weather is likely to persist in Sindh and South Punjab on Tuesday, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

While the majority of the country’s regions will witness hot and dry weather on Tuesday, dust-thunderstorm/rain with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Rain thunderstorm hit parts of Malakand division on Sunday, whereas the weather remained hot and dry in lower parts of the country.

In the last 24 hours, 1mm rainfall has been recorded in Chitral.

The highest temperature was recorded at 44°C in Shaheed Benazirabad, Jaccobabad, Moen-jo-Daro, Chhor, R.Y khan, Rohri, Mithi and Larkana on Sunday.

The weekly weather outlook released by PMD shows hot and dry weather throughout this week.
