Everyone loves a flagship killer. You get specifications that only flagship phones can match at a price that puts mid-rangers to shame.
Redmi is also planning to launch a flagship killer sometime soon. There has been a lot of rumors and speculations circulating on the interwebs and we’ve found some more juicy info on the upcoming flagship.
Someone has posted screenshots on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo which are supposedly taken from the nameless Redmi flagship.
The phone is allegedly given a code name Raphael. Since Xiaomi is fond of giving its flagships code names with historical significance, it is believed that the screenshots are from the new flagship. For reference, Xiaomi Mi 9 was codenamed as Cepheus after the mythologic king.
AI Assistant
The screenshots show an interesting error message which says “GPU overlocking” in the heading. The rest of the error message is pixelated but we can easily make out what the error is about. There is a close and open button at the bottom of the error message which clearly shows Xiaomi is working on AI assistants that optimize the CPU and GPU performance.
Based on this, we are suspecting the flagship to come with a game turbo feature which is not new to Xiaomi since more than a few phones feature game turbo mode.
Other Specifications
The phone is suspected to be powered by Snapdragon 855 paired with 8 or 12 GB RAM and 128/256 GB of built-in storage respectively.
Like other Xiaomi flagships, this flagship with no name will most probably have a few variants. The screenshots reveal that the phone uses MIUI 10 9.4.22. It is most probably the latest beta build.
The phone is rumored to feature a 6.39 inches display with a Full HD+ (1080 x 2340) resolution.
Camera
Another revelation is the ultra-wide camera sensor on the phone. It is kind of a reaffirmation to the previous leaks as well. The leaks suggested a triple sensor rear camera with 48 MP + 13 MP (ultra-wide) + 8 MP sensors. The front camera is suspected to be a single 32 MP sensor.
None of the above-mentioned information is confirmed at the moment. There are rumors of another Redmi phone with Snapdragon 730 in the works. Which only adds to the confusion.
